  Chikungunya is a fever which is an illness that can be caused by a virus and it can spread by mosquitoes. The name Chikungunya means it bends your joints or it makes you stop walking because this viral infection causes severe joint pain and muscle aches. Other symptoms of this viral fever include high fever, headache, fatigue, rash, nausea and red eyes.  Usually symptoms show up within 2 to 7 days after a mosquito bite from an infected mosquitoes.
