An Overview Of Oral Health

Oral hygiene plays a major part in maintaining a healthy lifestyle and wellness. When your dental care is not good or not maintained properly then it is the gateway for other health diseases like cancer, diabetes, respiratory problems and many more. Your intake is only through your mouth so it is more important to keep hygiene oral care.

If you feel any discomfort in your teeth like pain, colour change, cavities, gum disease then immediately consult the dentist and maintain your dental care.

Everyone likes to have a good smile for these whiten teeth, gum-free problems, straighten teeth, odourless mouth comes under oral health.

 How to maintain oral health?

This is not a big deal by following simpler steps in our day to day life we can maintain hygiene teeth. Even for the kids who had to maintain their oral health many of them say the milk teeth will fall and grow again but it affects the entire health system. So it is better to train your kids to have good teeth hygiene habits.

Here are some tips to maintain your teeth.

Brush twice a day

Most of us know this but do not follow. We do not allocate time for brushing twice. By brushing after your bed the plague in your mouth is removed. And brushing before your bed removes the food particles in your tooth and it is clean for complete night. If you are avoiding bedtime brushing the food particles stick to your tooth and increase the chance of cavities.

 Floss your tooth

Floss is more important. Do it every day after your meals. By flossing your teeth the food in your teeth are removed, do it gently rub on the outer walls of the teeth, inner side of your teeth and sideways, do not rub on the gum area it may lead to infection. Focus on teeth alone.

 Use mouthwash

After your brushing, after your mealtime and after your bedtime try to use mouth wash. Mouthwashes cleanse your teeth and give a good smell. Most of them and feel the bad odour from their mouth and for them, this will be helpful.

Right toothpaste

Choose the right toothpaste with fluoride content. The fluoride content to your tooth acts as a protective shield and it protects from bacteria and acidic contents.

You can even get this fluoride content naturally through the tap water when you wash your mouth. In some lucky areas of homes, the tap water has more fluoride content which helps your teeth to be naturally good. Whereas in some areas the tap water contains more salt and chlorine content which can easily chip out the tinny pieces of your teeth.

Brushing mistake

Another common mistake for unhealthy teeth is your brushing style. That too kids they are fast and complete their brushing within seconds. And some do the aggressive brushing for a few minutes and this is also very dangerous. By keeping on doing aggressive brushing your enamel will be destroyed and your teeth will be affected with sensitivity problems.

Choosing the right brush is more important. My advice does not use hard brushes and does not go for fully smooth brushes use medium-soft brushes. For people with sensitivity, problems can use soft brushes.

Brush your teeth in a circular motion. That is brush in rotating ways. Do not brush in straight-line motion.

Do not forget to brush the inner sides of your tooth. There may be a plague and if you left without brushing it affects your roots of teeth.

Every day does not start from the same point of brushing. Change your starting position daily.

Brush gently and do not take more time. Give soft brush.

  Types of dental problems

There is a big list of teeth problems each one face different issues on their teeth. And most of the dental problems are caused because of their poor oral hygiene, poor food habits and calcium and mineral deficiency.

In all dental problems, it is always better to consult the dentist in the earlier stage to cure it. Though in today’s technology we have a lot of treatments it is better to consult when you face the first symptoms because since most of the dental problems have a chance to spread to other teeth by the side and it affects the good teeth also. So put an end to the disease in the earlier stage itself.

Let us see some of the common dental problems.

 Cavities

Cavities are nothing but the decay in your tooth. Cavities are permanently damaged teeth or partially damaged or a tiny portion is chipped or holes in your teeth. This is caused by the too much sugar contents, acidic contents in food which is not properly brushed forms plague. The bacteria on your teeth destroy your teeth and cavities are formed. Proper brushing and floss can completely prevent tooth decay problems.

 Gingivitis

Gingivitis is the gum disease. It causes gum swelling and bleeding in the gums. Gum disease is caused due to the plague in your tooth and it destroys the gum.

 Periodontitis

Periodontitis is the next stage of gingivitis. When the gum disease is not treated and cured it leads to periodontitis. And affects your jaws, bones near your mouth.

 Healthy Eating Habits

Most teeth problems are caused because of deficiency problems and improper brushing. Healthy teeth need calcium, vitamin, phosphorous. Avoid sugary foods. The long term sugar content food in your tooth leads to tooth decay. and also avoid acidic substances like aerated drinks this affects your teeth very badly.

 Conclusion:

For a healthy smile and healthy body oral hygiene plays a major role. By marinating good oral health, you can prevent many deadly diseases. And the most important thing is to consult your dentist periodically to avoid dental problems. By keeping check-up once in 3 months you come to know whether there are any problems with your tooth or not.
